In sports, there is nothing more underappreciated than the jersey. It is simply put on by the athlete and then taken off by the athlete. I believe that it’s time to give the jersey some attention. Today’s article: the coolest jerseys in sports history (in no particular order.).
(disclamer: this list is strictly opinion and my taste is poor)
Denver Nuggets, 1982-1993.
You either love it or you hate it. I happen to fall into the first category. I think these should still be the teams uniforms, but hey, they don’t pay me to think (no one does, really).
New England Patriots, 1985-1987.
Just a really clean look. This jersey is probably my favorite NFL throwback jersey; I honestly wish that the Patriots wore this jersey for every game.
New York Yankees, 1951.
This Mickey Mantle jersey is by far my favorite MLB jersey ever made. It provides some variety away from the traditional pinstripes while still keeping a classic look.
Washington Capitals, 2010-Now.
A sleek, patriotic design from the nation’s capital. Washington did an excellent job with these retro looking alternates.
Netherlands Football, 1988.
Another bit of my questionable taste, but I love this jersey. I may be alone in that, and I have accepted that fact.
